2011 RULE AMENDMENTS:
(Effective March 7, 2011)

Composite Bats:  Bat manufacturers are working toward establishing bat testing standards by 2012.  In view of this, a majority of youth baseball organizations are now allowing usage of composite bats in 2011.  Super Series Baseball also will allow usage of composite bats from known manufacturers for 2011.  Until we receive information regarding a nationally adopted testing procedure, and an acceptable nationally adopted performance standard, Rule 7.01.5E shall be rescinded for 2011.

The Easton Stealth Model # BCNCP1 is the bat which was designated as a bat which was "not to be used with real baseballs."  With, or without such imprinted warning, this bat is now prohibited from use within Super Series Baseball.

GENERAL 14U BATS 7.01.5B  is amended.  NFHS bat rules require that all players must use “Drop 3 or –3 bats.”  Super Series Baseball will now allow 14U players to use either “drop 3 OR drop 5” bats. 14U players will NOT be allowed to use any bat with a greater “drop” than -5.   Penalty:  The batter is out and ejected from the game.

8U Coach Pitch:  Rule 10.04C is amended.  "A batter shall bat until he has received a maximum of six pitches, or three swinging strikes, or he hits the ball.  (New) If the batter fouls off the 6th (or last) pitch, or fouls the 3rd strike, the batter shall remain at bat.  The batter is not out by fouling off his final pitch.  A 3rd strike foul tip caught by the catcher, or any foul pop-up caught by a defensive player, will remain an out."

2011 RULES SUMMARIES:

1.  QUALIFICATION:
Any team, regardless of age or classification, is qualified for participation in Super Series State Championships, National Championships, or World Series event, when the team has played in two Super Series qualifying events.
Teams from states which do not offer Super Series qualifiers may be accepted to National Championships or World Series events, and classified, at the discretion of the national office.  (No at-large berths will be granted to any Minors teams.)

2.  ROSTER ADDS & DROPS:
All teams may have unlimited roster changes until May 1, 2011.
All 2011 spring-summer Super Series rosters shall become "frozen" on May 1st, 2011.  Thereafter, all teams are allowed a maximum of THREE PLAYER ADDITIONS.  Teams now have unlimited drops throughout the season.

In the fall-winter season, all rosters become "frozen" on October 15th.

Teams which purchase a NEW registration after these dates have unlimited drops until they participate in a Super Series event.  At that point, their roster is also frozen

Should any existing team desire to terminate its roster and re-register after a roster has been "frozen," the team must participate in at least one more qualifying tournament with its new roster prior to  becoming eligible for participation in State Championships, National Championships, or World Series events.

3. 8U DIVISIONS:
Effective this season, there will be two divisional classifications in all 8U play - American and Minors.  Separate state and World Series events will be held for each 8U classification.

4.  POINTS SYSTEM:
Points are no longer utilized for qualification to State or National Championships.  Points will continue to be important and utilized to seed all teams in World Series and National Championship events.
